Our Story
A Letter from Our Founders

We created this book and the organization, Special Needs Siblings, Inc., in order to bring awareness to disability (or special needs) in the minority communities. While this book focuses on our son and understanding a person with special needs, in this case autism and epilepsy, Special Needs Siblings takes it a step further. We want to dispel the stigmas and support the siblings and families of disabled individuals.

We have learned so much when it comes to Christian and our daily experiences but one thing that stood out was the lack of education and support that is needed for the siblings and family. Siblings often carry involuntary responsibilities and become caregivers as the child ages, but what are their options? Parents often struggle, but do they understand their rights or know what resources are available?

We continue to advocate, educate and empower those who are faced with the same or similar experiences. Special Needs Siblings, Inc. is a 501c3 organization. Donate and learn more at www.specialneedssiblings.com
